The Studio is OPEN.....October 17th and 18th, 2015 12noon-6pm

Frank's studio will be OPEN to you and the rest of the world! October 17 and 18, as a part of City wide Open Studios, CWOS during the "Transported" weekend, 12noon-6pm.
In his studio you will find 100's of paintings, some finished and framed and ready to take home, some in process, some painted long ago, and many more as yet unpainted...all ready to be seen.fbruckmann.com
And on the topic of Open Studios, in the words of neighbor David Chorney, who has visited Frank's studio many times:
"Aside from seeing the studio of a highly accomplished artist, I have found this is also a great time to ask Frank all the questions you ever wanted to ask, regarding his process, opinions, questions about technique, and so many other questions you can learn from. Great opportunity to pick the mind of an artist, and Frank is very easy and willing to engage and give in that way."

"Local Color" at the Island Inn, Monhegan Island

Any chance you will be in Maine this summer??? If so, take the ferry out to Monhegan Island for hundreds of reasons, but this summer Frank has a  huge and wonderful exhibit, "Local Color" which is over 40 paintings from the past 5 years.

The exhibition opened beautifully at The Island Inn on Monhegan on Tuesday.  Visitors are welcome to view this show during or in between dining room hours. I recommend bringing your own bottle of wine, order the beet/chevre salad and scallops with papardelle, so you can sit and enjoy wonderful food, service and ART all at once. All paintings (except those with red dots) are available for sale through the Lupine Gallery and will remain on display until Columbus Day, but don't wait that long to make your choice!

fbruckmann.com is a great resource for viewing Frank's work as well.

Painting with Frank on Monhegan: Happy Artists!

Here are some pictures from the Monhegan painting workshop....Six days of hard work and painting and 6+ hours of painting instruction daily.  I heard there were 2 wine and cheese critiques and lunch  delivered to remote painting locations! The Island Inn hosted all the painters with great style and service. As usual, Frank never took a break....Let us know if you want to join in NEXT TIME!

Catch the ferry over to Monhegan Island this summer!  And when you get there, walk up from the town dock and duck into the gracious Island Inn to see their summer show.....about 40 paintings by Frank. This show is Local Color,  mostly island paintings, with a few from the Breaking Bread series, some still lifes and portraits from Frank's New Haven studio.

Go to Frank's website for some close up views of his Monhegan Island work.  Let us know if you are venturing out to Monhegan, as we will be on island for most of July and half of August, and would love to show you his work, and perhaps grab a lobster and some of that Monhegan Island Brew...

After two years of painting dinner parties in his studio, Frank is unveiling a compelling and extensive new series.  It is about coming together and having a meal with your friends or family; eating, drinking, conversing. It's what we do when we are "breaking bread."

The Exhibition Opening is Sunday, March 29th, from 3-6:00pm at the Kehler Liddell Gallery in New Haven, and if you can, you should come see for yourself.... The show runs from March 26 - April 26.
