"Breaking Bread" Opens this Sunday!

After two years of painting dinner parties in his studio, Frank is unveiling a compelling and extensive new series.  It is about coming together and having a meal with your friends or family; eating, drinking, conversing. It's what we do when we are "breaking bread."

The Exhibition Opening is Sunday, March 29th, from 3-6:00pm at the Kehler Liddell Gallery in New Haven, and if you can, you should come see for yourself.... The show runs from March 26 - April 26.

Two Successful Bruckmann Happenings….

October was a full month….Frank spent early October in PA painting bucolic landscapes, including Radnor Township's favorite (and perhaps soon-to-be-developed) Ardrossan Farm. He also sought out paintworthy farmscapes out Goshen Road, which we then hung up promptly, in time for our 6th Annual Landscape Event.

Citywide Open Studios in New Haven brought many neighbors, clients and unique visitors to Frank's studio, here in our backyard-artsy-Westville-mecca. For those uninitiated, Westville has gathered many many that are in the arts, and when we throw open our doors, as we do, annually in the fall for New Haven's Citywide Open Studios, and in the Spring for the Westville Village ArtWalk, it is a wonderful scene, as people flock in to see what these diverse artists have to offer .

On the Road in Pennsylvania

Have you seen this van parked on the side of the road? Seen the man painting from sunrise to sunset? For a week now I have been getting daily updates of paintings that are brand new, just about finished, and everything in between.

WE HOPE YOU CAN JOIN US FOR THE PARTY WHICH WILL BE
THE UNVEILING OF THESE GEMS!  And that date is:

Saturday, October 12, from 6-9pm
403 Waynesbrooke Road
Berwyn, PA  19312

RSVP:  muffysart@sbcglobal.net

Working on these paintings simultaneously allowed Frank to take the most successful parts from each painting and put it in the other one,  therefore enhancing both.....

And below is a what a "block in" looks like. For instance, this painting is only a few minutes old. The very beginning stage when Frank is composing the paintings elements. Look at that late afternoon light...gorgeous

Monhegan Island Summertime

Below are a few of the paintings Frank completed while we spent 6 glorious weeks on Monhegan Island, ME.  And though the island is small, only 1.5 miles long, and with only 30 year round residents, the landscape painting opportunities are infinitesimal.  He's like a kid in a candy shoppe; only these decadent creations are like tonics on the soul!

Maine Islands, Summer 2013

We took a few painting and camping pit stops to different islands this summer, Mount Desert Island and North Haven islands, before our annual Monhegan Island retreat.

North Haven came recommended from some new residents, and a different summer visitor, so we had to check it out. It is much bigger than we imagined, had a wonderful town park and several painting possibilities.  Frank's quick oil "sketches" are below.

Firmly on Monhegan soil now since end of July, the light is gorgeous and Frank is busy painting. More to follow shortly.....
